About Erika

Erika Colin is an award-winning Franco-Mauritian American journalist, producer, photographer, writer and small business owner with two decades of experience in media production. Her expertise spans news documentary production, digital marketing direction, professional photography, content creation, business operations and social media management. Erika is a multilingual creative consultant and international communications expert.

Erika's Story

Born and reared in Paris, Erika attended The George Washington University, where she graduated from the School of Media and Public Affairs in 2005 with a B.A. in Electronic Media.

 

After relocating to Atlanta in 2005, she was a journalist for CNN’s documentary and investigative units for 6 years. She obtained her M.A. in Photography from Spéos Photographic Institute (Paris) in 2013.

 

Erika lived in Fort Lauderdale from 2014-2023, where she became a small business owner and freelancer. As an independent journalist, writer, photographer, producer, marketing director, office operations director and creative consultant, her work is as varied as are her clients. The latter include news agencies, large businesses, internet giants, as well as smaller firms, agencies and individuals. Erika also became a certified RYT- 200 hot fusion flow yoga instructor during her time in Florida.

 

A native Mauritian, Erika relocated to Mauritius in 2024 to reside close to her family and pursue a new chapter based in the West Indian Ocean.
